Covergalls, Founder and CEO, Alicia Woods, BSc
Inspired by her female mining experience, creator and founder Alicia Woods caught herself wondering why, with so many women joining unconventional careers, did they wear garments designed for a male’s body type. The reason was simple – they didn’t have a choice. There were no coveralls for women available on the market. This is where the idea for Covergalls Workwear was born. With unique features, designed by women and for women working in the industrial sector, Covergalls ensures critical safety and comfort for women working in mining and metals and is setting the standard for women’s workwear. Further, Covergalls is a clear demonstration of workplaces committed to best in class leadership diversity and inclusion standards.
What began as simply creating safer, healthier workwear has begun to represent and be the tipping point for change. Alicia soon realized that innovating workwear was only the beginning. Alicia now works along side some of Canadas leading Mining companies to not only ensure their female workforce is safely outfitted but to also advise, collaborate and create stronger business models and policies that establish a more inclusive work environment. In today’s business landscape, diversity and inclusion are recognized as key contributors for improved competitive equity. With Alicia’s leadership, mining companies can now implement holistic solutions to provide an optimal workplace setting that leverages the power of diversity.
