Canadians want to see businesses shift focus from shareholders and profits and instead prioritize their employees and the broader community, according to a new survey.

The survey was conducted by the Canadian Centre for the Purpose of the Corporation (CCPC), which has a goal of helping businesses meet Canadians’ expectations. It surveyed 3,000 Canadians from July 6 to 11, 2020, with a fair split of region, age and gender to reflect StatsCan data.
