Diamonds in the Rough speak at the 2023 IMRB International Mines Rescue Body Conference in South Africa
Diamonds in the Rough is a project initiated by Kari Lentowicz and Bruce Coley to raise women’s profiles in the mining industry and non-traditional roles through mine rescue. Their goal is to foster the development of a woman’s underground mine rescue team to advance and retain the skill level necessary to provide emergency rescue services and compete internationally in a traditionally male-dominated environment.
Our Artemis Project member Kari Lentowicz, co-founder of Diamonds in the Rough Emergency Rescue Organization., was invited to speak at the 2023 IMRB International Mines Rescue Body Conference in South Africa. Kari leads the only female-only mine rescue services team.
