Artemisa: Breaking Barriers and Paving the Way for talented women engineers in the mining industry

A year ago, Belem Vergara Suarez embarked on a life-changing journey from Chile to Canada, driven by her passion for mining and supported by our Artemisa initiative. Through our partnership with Red de Ingenieras de Minas - RIM Chile, we launched the Artemisa Project in 2021, mentoring and empowering a network of female mining engineer graduates seeking their first-stage career opportunities.

A year ago, Belem Vergara Suarez embarked on a life-changing journey from Chile to Canada, driven by her passion for mining and supported by our Artemisa initiative. Through our partnership with Red de Ingenieras de Minas – RIM Chile, we launched the Artemisa Project in 2021, mentoring and empowering a network of female mining engineer graduates seeking their first-stage career opportunities.
We guided them through selection process interviews, provided coaching and support, and fostered valuable connections to unlock outstanding opportunities for showcasing their talent and skills.
Our Artemisa mining companies partners opened the doors to our talented pool and gave them a chance to build their careers in Canada.  
Like Belén story, we want to support more talented women engineers to succeed in Canada. With our initiative Artemisa we are leading the second stage of this program, called the Immigration and Readiness Talent Program, aimed at increasing the talent pool of female mining engineers for Canadian mining companies.
The project seeks to increase the talent pool of female mining engineers for Canadian mining companies facing a shortage of skilled professionals and provide Chilean graduates with valuable international mining experience and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
